British teacher sentenced in Sudan
A British teacher found guilty of insulting Islam in Sudan, where she allowed her young students to name a teddy bear after the Prophet, has been sentenced to jail and deportation. The British government has urged Sudan to release her early.

The British government said it would still pressure Sudan on Friday for the release of Gillian Gibbons, the English teacher who was found guilty of insulting Islam by naming a classroom teddy bear "Muhammad."

Gibbons, a UK national, was sentenced to 15 days in prison plus deportation by a Sudanese court on Thursday. She's been charged with insulting religion but cleared of the more serious charge of inciting hatred and showing contempt for religious beliefs.

Kidnapper probably killed Madeleine because of publicity, says top Portuguese lawyer
Madeleine McCann is probably dead, Portugal's attorney general has said.
Fernando Jose Pinto Monteiro said it would have been "natural" for an abductor to have killed the girl after she became the world's most famous missing child.

In a brutally frank assessment of the case, Portugal's most senior lawyer said the publicity campaign launched by Madeleine's parents had probably sealed her fate.

Mr Monteiro also revealed that the Madeleine investigation was the most expensive in Portuguese history, but admitted that he did not know if there would ever be arrests.
He insisted all lines of inquiry are still open, and that police will continue to throw resources at the case.

But he said: "There is a greater degree of probability of the little girl being dead than of her being alive.

I hope he's wrong.

Young Britain is cocaine capital of the world with more abuse than U.S. for first time
'Fashionable': Nearly one in 20 young Britons took cocaine last year
The proportion of young Britons who take cocaine is now the highest in the developed world, a report revealed recentlu.
For the first time, the percentage of 15 to 34-year-olds trying the drug has overtaken that in America.
Nearly one in 20 young Britons took cocaine last year, as it replaced cannabis, ecstasy and amphetamines as the most fashionable drug among the young.
For decades, Americans have been the chief users of the drug, which has been cheaply and easily available in cities there.
Until the last decade, cocaine was usually seen in Britain as the preserve of pop stars and City traders.
But low prices, an increasing supply and the unpopularity of other drugs has meant that Britain - together with Spain - now has the highest levels of cocaine consumption among the young here.
Figures showed that 4.9 per cent of men and women aged between 15 and 34 used the drug in Britain last year - around 800,000 young people.
In America, the percentage was slightly lower, at 4.8 per cent.

Lover boy of America...lol

Freaky Pictures

This is so freaky right? Sadly, that's a child...

The coming of a storm...not even nice

Is this possible? A giraffe looking into a plane that's obviously in the air? This picture really freaked me out.

Ok...what exactly is going on here?

Lazy mum. That should be illegal right? For the child's safety at least if not for hers

What the hell is the bird looking for in the sheep's nose?

This dress is toooo long. It's scary to look at

Bad parents.

Lord have mercy...carrying that at this age?

LOL.

Now that's weird. How did he get there?

The weirdest of them all...probably disgusting...

Is this possible?

Ruggedman's clothing line
Just saw pix of Ruggedman's 20th Sept Clothing line. I don't know what to think of this clothes. They're really cool, just that I expected the designs to be a little different from the norm...more of hip hop or Sean John style..

Check them out...

What are your thoughts? Think his clothing line will fly? I hope it does!

Linda Why not paginate your Blog so that it does not have to load an extended front page?

you can divide it into monthly archives etc

It will also be a good idea to have a discussion forum

Try using/adopting the nairaland template for instance
