Beautiful 5year old Shaniya Davis lived with her father all her life until in october '09, when an informal agreement was reached between Shaniya's parents to let her stay with her mum for a little while.
Shaniya's mum, Antoinette Davis, (pictured above), who never played a role in Shaniya's life, met Shaniya's father one night, had sex with him once, found out she was pregnant, had the baby and dumped her with the father, until last month when the father agreed to let Antoinette have Shaniya for a few weeks.
On Tuesday Nov 10th Shaniya disappeared from her mother's home. Her mother reported her missing and thus began the search.
On Monday Nov 16th, Shaniya's body was found in a wooded area just south of Sanford. The 5year old had been raped and strangled.
Then an image made from surveillance video showed a man carrying 5-year old Shaniya Davis in the hallway of a hotel in Sanford, NC. The man was identified as Mario Andrette McNeill, 29. Shaniya's mother's business partner. Shaniya was seen with him on Nov. 10, 2009, about an hour after she disappeared from her home in Fayetteville, about 40 miles away
During investigation into the murder, police found out that Shaniya's 25 year old mum had offered her child to Mario McNeill, whom she owed money, for child prostition, out of desperation.
Antoneitte has since been charged with human trafficking and felony child abuse.

Her mother and that business partner of hers are such evil people and need to die a horrible death. What was her father thinking to allow the crackhead take care of his daughter. Just a picture of this lovely girl in the arms of her kidnapper did me in. Shaniya just held him like he could do her no harm only to meet a horrible death in his arms. This is so wrong. Apparently antoinette the birth mom owed Mario the killer some crack money and so she gave up her daughter to pay off her debt.
Look at both their Anuofia faces, no remorse whatsoever.
I say someone kill them both now instead of wasting our tax payers money and going thru the court system and if they end up in jail lord please put them in general population so someone can f**k them up good.

My heart is broken!!! I cry my eyes out, whenever I see heartless people do evil things like this. But that's the world we live in, full of cruel, wicked, people.
My heart goes out to her father, I'm sure he will feel so guilty. Why does innocent people have to be the prey to these evil people? My only hope is, thank God, he's the judge that will one day, give to people what they deserve.

I understand why u all can say these things about this child's mother but I can't see a mother offering her child for prostitution. I just can see a thing like that happening. Like someone said on the news, they shouldn't accuse someone of something like this without proof.
Another thing, this father isn't as good as some wants to assume. This is a man that have many children by many women that he isn't even taking care of. He has a 16 yr old son that's being raised by someone else and another child that's in someone else's custody. What's wrong with his life that he can't take care of his children? He looks like he live a nice lifestyle. Why is he invovled with these type of women that don't or can't take care of their children? Why didn't he get involved when the little girl was supposedly burned by a cigarette? I'm not blaming him but he also dropped the ball when it came to protecting his child and people need to look into these things as well.

So sorry. This little girl did not deserve this kind of death. Saw the father today on Oprah and he handled himself pretty well. I had total admiration for him when Oprah asked him what he thought of the killer and his wife, and he said, he hopes they come to realize their wrongs and that it's not for him to judge but God. I still think to myself, how does one begin to forgive these kind of people? I don't know if I could. God help me.
I am sorry to disagree with you "tell it like it is", it is a shame that America seems to be the country that people think is full of sick people...yeah it is expected but let me tell you something, I was raised in Nigeria too, where I thought everyone was supposed to look after each other especially the children...but from personal experience, that was not always true...I was sexually abused by my own uncles and family friends whom my parents trusted to take care of me, while they were out. This happened continously for many years and when I eventually opened up to my mother that this happened do you know what her eresponse was that it was my fault that it happened...It is a shame that this happened to this little girl but to say that only in the US can something like this happen is wrong because just because Africans are not open or bold enough to disclose that they have been sexually abused does not mean that it does not happen in our own country....Just like my mom said when I confronted her about it, her response was that it does not happen in Africa...It is sad to say that yes, this also happen back home but we all keep it secret and live with it for the rest of our lives in misery and pain....For your information pedophiles are everywhere and the exploitation of children for sex also happens everyday in the world...please open your eyes and look around you

I don't know you, but you are an inspiration to me, because despite all the things you've been through, you still mentioned God's unfailing love. I know, even when it looks like some of these evil people go free, or get a little compared to what they deserve, God is the judge, and I know that they will one day stand before HIM, and give them their final verdict.
How do you forgive such people? It's really hard, but forgiveness comes when someone truly understands what CHRIST did for him/her, and knowing that, GOD is a GOD of justice.
folks b4 u blame the biological father, know that he has experienced tragedy before. His wife was killed 11yrs ago leaving him with 3 young children! He isnt perfect, but then again who is, some how him and his sister were able to raise this beautiful girl, and we can say so from all the pictures provided, show her as someone who was well taken care of.
Unfortunately he let her go to her mother, maybe he knew her home wasnt the best but I dont think he ever thought this is what would have happened. after all he was gone a lot for work anyway, so maybe he wanted to relieve his sister and others from any burden.
Its sad, I weep every time I see her face but I am comforted knowing that shaniya being an innocent child is at the feet of Jesus where she will ALWAYS be taken care of!

My own is that some women say they want to have kids when they are married. They will even verbally abuse the ones that don't have kids yet, that they don't know what they are doing by not having kids. Just last week, my niece was coming back from school, she usually walks home, bcos her school is like five minutes away. She said this guy stopped her, and told her to get in his car.
