Linda Ikeji's - It Takes You!

So sorry I haven’t blogged since Tuesday. I have been having the most tiring week. You all recall I kinda hinted that I’m working on a book project? Well, my publishers kidnapped me this week. I couldn’t do anything but work with the editors all through this week; morning till late in the evening. I’d get home too tired to even stare at my laptop. But we finally finished today. They will start printing on Monday and they’ve promised the book will be ready in 2/3 weeks.

The book is titled ‘It Takes You!’ (A Book of Inspiration). Thirty articles. All Inspirational. About 120 pages - all written by my humble self. (How does she do it? She runs her business, blogs regularly and still finds time to write a book? Hmmm...I’m a genius I guess...lol *I kid*). I’m just a believer in making ones dreams come true.

Anyway, I’m planning big for the book. I’m definitely doing a formal launch...maybe sometime next month. And after that I’m hoping to get either a rich/compassionate person or a corporate organisation to endorse the book, buy into it and pay for the cost of printing thousands of copies which will then be distributed free of charge to students in higher institutions. Hope it works out! And hope I get a lot of support!

I’m also trying to set up a school. Just acquired a new place but the whole process of it is driving me nuts...I can’t catch my breath. *Sigh*.
What I need now is to get...(don’t write it Linda, don’t you dare write it. Young people also read this blog).
Alright, alright, I won't write it. I'll write this instead. What I need now is...a vacation.
Better Linda.
Lol!
I’m exhausted I swear.

Anyhoo, hope you all are doing great. I’ll get back to regular blogging on Monday. I’m co-ordinating a modeling gig this weekend that will keep me pretty occupied.
Catch you guys then and don’t miss me too much *Smile*.
God bless.
Kisses.

ok!
is it that you just dont understand quality!
I can tell by looking @ this picture that hair has cut in front.
You have a Big Head so you dont need to pose like that
That photography quality is poor that picture is not seller or a winner.
Even if its to wear a blazer it would be better.
The font choose are old fashion and cheap.I can tell they are free fonts from the internet.
I like your drive but i think you need to move forward with date.Everything i see you do is so old fashion its like your stuck in the past.
Baby girl get into 2010.

Nice Linda, I love your picture on the cover, but I hate the font. I hope the font doesn't look in print as it does in the picture.

Good job anyways. I would buy your book if I can.

Linda first of all, I have to say congratulations on being a soon to be published author. However, I have to say that the picture of you on the front cover is not good at all. Ah ah...what happened to the advice we gave you on hair, clothes and accessories. Please my dear, you're too much for this. Pls take a look at Bella in her interview with Oprah. Or even her front cover pic on true love. On point! And I know you're a gbo gbo bigz girl. Since this is your first book, you need to captivate us with an amazing front cover picture so we can patronize you. This is what this picture tells me about the book just from the first impression, "tacky, not well done, poor quality, rushed job" I already don't even want to know what's inside. Also, since this book is being published rather quickly, please make sure its super edited. As in not even one grammatical or typographical errow. Remember, first impression matters. If I find one single mistake in the book, I don't even want to buy anything of yours again. Please, please, please take your time and do a very bang up job. Hopefully, this could be a breakthrough for you. Smooches!!!

I like your drive, motivation, and I'm really proud of you. To Nigerians, learn that it's important to put your best effort into things, don't just do something, just to do it. Strive for the best, and be ready to put quality instead of quantity in your work.

Nigerians are all about the quantity, and it shows in the movies, and everything that they do. How many movies can we produce, even though it's poor production, lightning, and sound system. What about you produce few movies, but they are all well done. How many books can we write, even though, the book is poor writing, editing, and everything is just poor.
How much money can we have? Then, they rush into having a business, and don't care if it's illegal, as long as it brings in money, like fast money. That's the reason so many Nigerian business owners here in the States are in problems, because they rush into the business, and didn't take their time to study, build it, and follow the guidelines. It might work in Nigeria, but not here. They wonder why their businesses crumble after a while of making fast money, but now it's closed down.
I feel like it's lack of creativity, and not caring about the people that you plan to make money of. People will be interested when they see the effort and quality work you put into it. I understand, sometimes people learn and grow along the way, but let your first impression be something that people will still look forward to.

I'm so so proud of you that I don't know how to express it. Truth is the sky is only your pre-genesis. I've only read of this kind of strength in books. You're such a rare-breed. You're my model. Truly, the picture on the cover-page and the title fonts are not anywhere close to your best creativity. So if its not late, pleasssssssseeeeeeee change it.

Congraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttssssssss.......
