Edo State Gov, Adams Oshiomhole, employs females as bus drivers

Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has employed several women as bus drivers for the state's public transport system known as Edo City Transport Services (ECTS).

The women, aged between 22 and 25 years, have been trained to drive the long, heavy, air-conditioned Daewoo Luxury Buses, which will ply the city's highways.

Really? Thats nice. His he trying to look good on the women's eyes. Another thing, why only 22yrs to 25 yrs old? why is Nigeria big on age discrimination?

He needs to continue catching them young before they head to Italy. I wish the Ibotic and Ijawtic states will adopt this measure to help their women who sleep around for a piece of meat.

Thats a wonderful idea, by the way Linda, how could you approve such a racially demented comment from this gbenga fool? Ok lets even take the gloves off, yes every tribe in Nigeria has got its own fair share of women of easy virture, but its on record that only in yoruba land that you have the highest rate of children outside wedlock, you have morning husband, afternoon husband and night husband. Am not saying there are no good women in yoruba land, but the pot should start calling

I hope it works...

@ Anon 12:15am Instead of you to applaud him for women empowerment you are complaining? Should he have employed your 60 yr old mother so she'll send everyone else to the grave with her?
@ Anon Gbenga, you are smoking shit at 12 am? How else would a sane person write what you just wrote? Na by force to comment?
@ the one who said Ogbemudia did it before... Kill joy!
Intead of commending someone who did something good you ll only want to put the person down. Mumu ode, if Ogbemudia did it before unko? Because this is a public forum and open to everyone some trash cans take it upon themselves to write trash! Keep your negativity with you. Debbie downer. Mr/ Miss I never see nothing good. It's about time someone cursed the hell outta some people.
Oh don't bother to respond to me, it ll be like a drop of water on an ocean... won't feel the darn effect!

i hope they hav all gone through very intense driving lessons o.and i hope they've got large enuf livers to drive those massive things. cus just this morning in the eagle sqaure car park in abuja, a woman driving a small toyota stopped in the middle of the road (thank God i wasnt moving too fast) backed up without looking in her rearview mirror to see if a car was behind her and hit my headlight. i'd left enough space between us and still she backed up, hit and cracked my headlight...smh
i like the idea of women drivers, guess there will be less rough driving. i just really hope they are superb drivers and dont get jittery cus of the size of the cars

These women have actually been driving these buses 4 d past one year in Edo state. It's a sight to behold and they are doing a good job at dat. I am not really a fan of d gov but i've been having a rethink lately bcos d guy is actually doing shocking work. I say shocking bcos in all my 30plus years in Edo state i 've never witness such development. In ogbemudias time, i was very young, thus culdn't discern much. D gov is trying but he's very troublesome! Well, maybe dat's his strategy 4 getting things done.! Kudos oshos!

My only problem is with the age. It should have been 22-35. Or 30 atleast. Nice one sha.

I DONT LIKE THIS IDEA O. WOMAN DRIVING A BIG BUS. I WONT EVEN ENTER THANK GOD I DONT LIVE IN BENIN. ONE DAY THEY WILL TELL WOMEN TO DRIVE OKADA ALL IN THE NAME OF WOMEN EMANCIPATION. THESE GIRLS ARE GOING TO BECOME LIKE THOSE DRIVERS BY THE TIME THEY ARE 30 THEY WILL BE SO HARD LIKE MEN, I PITY THE MAN WEY GO MARRY THEM COS THEY WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO PERFORM IN THE NIGHT AFTER DRAGGING THOSE HEAVY STEERING AND SHOUTING AND CURSING ALL DAY.

He needs to continue catching them young before they head to Italy. I wish the ngbati ngbati ofemmanu yoruba states will adopt this measure to help their gullible women who sleep around with even their inlaws and husbands' friends for ashoebi dresses.

~Yv said...

This is good but I hope they won't be driving at night... am more scared for their safety than anything else.

Bee said...

hmmmmmmm.

Have they been properly trained?

Are they fit to drive long hours?

Will they have appropriate security?

Why the age discrimination?

Why the gender discrimination?

I saw the Governor at the lagos airport today on his way to Benin.
No big entourage - just about 2 people or so with him. No major drama as he waled through the airport.
I don't know much else about him but the way he carried himself this morning and this news bodes well for Edo State

That's good but what about the crime rate in Benin, is the place safe?? I remember when we used to have to make sure we were out of Benin by 2pm on our way to and from my village to Lagos and we had to pass through Benin city. We had to be out of Benin by 2pm as armed robbers used to take over the town from that time. But this is a good start to encourage young women to stay at home rather than on the streets of Rome

i hope they will be paid and regularly too. Cos, my bro who works with ects as a manager hardly ever gets his monthly paycheck and this is the kind of publicity they were give back then. Me i never liked or trusted this man sha, not even when he was nlc oga.

Better shut the hell up? When men drive its not gender discrimination but when women drive, it is. U no get sense.
