Didi Creations joins Lagos fashion scene...holds exhibition

Didi Creations recently had its debut fashion exhibition in Lagos. The glamorous gathering, which held recently inside the expansive lounge of Deuces, Victoria Island, was well attended.

Miss Tina Ndidi Ugo is the Creative Director behind 'Didi Creations Limited'. In her words, the passion for designing, arts and creativity were the major forces behind venturing into the fashion business.

Surprisingly, she’s doing all these with no formal training or education in fashion, but holds a bachelors of arts degree (combined honours) in philosophy and political science from the university of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Ugo also bagged a post graduate diploma in business management from a college in the United Kingdom and most recently, a Masters of business administration degree from a prestigious university in the same United Kingdom.
Speaking further, she discloses that Didi Creations is a fashion company incorporated and based in the United Kingdom.“Our services include, creating unisex clothing, footwear, bags and accessories. We also offer customized services to clients on request. Our design inspirations are drawn from colours, retro, african arts and culture; hence the colourful, retro and afrocentric theme in most of our designs.”
The soft-spoken fashionista who intends shuttling between Nigeria and her base in the United Kingdom, adds:
“Quality is key in everything we do, so we work with the best and tested artisans around the globe to create our perfect finished designs. Each of our design is hand crafted from start to finish. We create using the finest natural raw materials ranging from leather, bamboo, fabric, fur, beads, wood, straw, sequence, shells and coconut shells”.

Mehn I know I'm not into bags but I gotta get some for my madam. They really look unique and good for traditional wear.

Boring everyone has a boutique or something....I wish her the best, but for real how many people really buy from these stores?????

No hating it's just too many shoes, bags, clothes etc...after a while it becomes redundant.

Nice n lovely lkg bags but d funny thg abt Nigerian designers is that they always put scandalous price tags on thr products. U want us to patronise our own thgs here in Nig yet u put unreasonable prices that scare pple away.

The girl with the pink "round-about shoe" is the "creative director". Real creative.
Honey, if you won't wear your own wares, why should I? Those are not unique, custom-made stuff ur wearing...Good luck tho.

I always wonder about designers who dont/wont wear their own stuff. Like "she" by Sheree, on RHOA...
