Etisalat Takes Nigerian Idol 3 to Port Harcourt & Owerri

The third season of Etisalat’s Nigerian Idol is gathering momentum as youths of Port Harcourt and Owerri, had a real shot at music stardom at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt and Imo Concorde Hotel, Imo when the auditions hit the east for the second and third leg of the ongoing auditions to discover the country’s next music star. The auditions which took place last two weekends saw youths from different parts of the states, as well as neighbouring states, try to outdo each other in front of the judges.

The audition cities also played host to a number of Nigerian artistes as Chuddy K and Wiz-Boy gave fans exciting performances and had fans screaming for more.

Speaking at the Port Harcourt audition, Head, Youth Segments, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Elvis Daniels reiterated Etisalat's commitment to empowering youth through the Nigerian Idol, one of the company’s major sponsorship platforms. He expressed satisfaction at the turnout and determination of over 2,000 contestants.

Modupe Thani Head, Events and Sponsorships, Etisalat Nigeria, at the end of the audition in Owerri advised those wishing to participate in the show to register online at www.nigerianidol.com. After filling the registration form online, she said, they should text their names and location to 5599 on their Etisalat lines only. In the alternative, they can register at the audition venues when the Idol train comes to their city. For non-contestants willing to follow this season’s auditions on the social media, she advised them to visit Etisalat Nigeria’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear for the next audition scheduled to hold in the ancient city of Benin this weekend at the Excalibur Hotel on the 3rd of November. The last phase of the audition comes up in Lagos on the 10th of November at Bamako Studios, Omole.

This season is bigger and better as winner will go home with N20 million worth of prizes, including N7.5 million in cash, a brand new SUV, and a recording contract with a record label. The first runner–up will receive the sum of N1.5 million and a saloon car which will be presented by Etisalat.

The show will air on STV, NTA network and AIT come December 16th, 2012.
